E-bike Challenge Minneapolis Cancellation

It is with regret that we have to make the decision to cancel the 2023 edition of the E-bike Challenge Minneapolis.

We have been put in the very difficult position of having to make the call to go forward, or not, and have finally made the decision to pull this year’s edition.

The market is presently in a difficult stage with a serious labor shortage, high inflation and energy prices, and still continuing supply and logistic problems for many companies who planned on exhibiting. In these uncertain economic circumstances we found it is difficult for exhibitors to commit early, which has affected the planning for the E-bike Challenge.

As in our European events, we want the E-bike Challenge Minneapolis to meet the same quality standards we have set for all our shows, which we believe our exhibitors and attendees expect.

With less than four weeks to the event and a substantial number of exhibitors still unable to commit, we have concluded that in the remaining time we won’t be able to organize an E-bike Challenge that has the quality we demand.

Going forward, we will consider what changes are necessary to make it happen again for Minnesota. With the concentration here of bicycle-related industry and infrastructure, Minneapolis and the Twin Cities deserve a bicycling event that can set an example for the rest of the US.

Such an event will stimulate the business of the local Bike Shops, and will help promote the programs of the local bicycling-related non-profits. And last but not least, it will confirm the Twin Cities as a center of the bicycle industry in the US, and as a perfect place to showcase the practice of micro-mobility in a city.

Yes, we have canceled the 2023 event. But E-bike Challenge will be back in 2024. We look forward to meeting all the bicycling-minded businesses and organizations in a few months, and discuss how we can realize what the Midwest needs and deserves: an exciting event that boosts the Twin Cities as the Bicycling Center of the US.

On behalf of the Hicle Team, organizers of E-bike Challenge and Hike & Bike Xperience, thank you for your understanding.
